Guidelines
ROLE GUIDELINESWriters
—Writers must complete one fic, length minimum is 4,000 words.
—You may use a project that you have already started as long as it has not been posted anywhere.
—Writers may collaborate, but you must inform the mods before summary submissions.
—Writers must credit their betas when they post.
—Multichapter works may be posted over the length of the posting period instead of all at once.
—Writers are expected to include all significant tags in their summary submissions and posted fics.Artists
—Artists must create at least one finished piece for the event.
—Artists must follow the tier guidelines based on (1) the type of art they’re making and (2) the length of their partner’s fic.
—Artists may collaborate, but you must inform the mods before summary claims.
—Artists should pay attention to writer preferences when declaring preferred summaries.
—The art must not exceed the fic's rating.*If the fic changes tiers during the creation process, the artist is not required to create more than the original tier. If the tier lowers, the artist can decide whether they would like to adhere to the lower tier’s limits.Beta Readers
—Betas must beta at least one piece.
—Betas must be able to do copy editing and line editing. (Info about Copy Editing and Line Editing)
—Some authors may request a beta who can help them with brainstorming and developing content in their summary submissions. Please only select those summaries if you are willing to help the author in those areas.*Betas are only required to beta within the original tier of the ficPinchhitters
—Pinch hitters may sign up to be a pinch hitter for more than one piece
—There is no guarantee that you will be called upon to create something for the event. If you are needed, mods will contact you through discord.TIER SYSTEM
The Tier system is to match writer,s artists, and beta readers by the level of effort/time commitment they want to give to the bang. We understand fics can get a life of their own and grow. If a fic goes above the original estimated tier, the artist and beta do not have to match the higher tier. If a fic is wrapped up in a shorter word count, the artist and beta can stay at the original tier or drop down to match the lower tier.Tier 1

FAQ
What is a Big Bang?
A Big Bang is a fan event in which writers, betas, and artists collaborate together to create fanfiction and fanart based on a specific character or theme. Writers begin by writing the story, betas help edit it, and then artists create accompanying art based on early drafts and/or the author's summary. This Big Bang focuses on Hawks from My Hero Academia. What are the requirements?
All skill levels are welcome! The only requirements are 1) your commitment to completing the piece(s) you sign up to make, 2) having a discord account, and 3) being at least 18Why is Discord required?
We will be communicating with participants on Discord throughout the process to make sure that everything is running smoothly. How many writers/artists will be accepted?
All applicants will be accepted! The goal of a big bang is for everyone to have fun creating works together, regardless of skill level. How will partners be assigned?
Writers will provide summaries that describe the plot, AO3 rating, and story tags. Artists and betas will request the top fics they would like to illustrate/edit, and then mods will assign them to a piece based on their requests. Are NSFW and pieces with Mature topics allowed?
Yes. We follow AO3 ratings. If you're ever uncertain about a rating, feel free to ask the mods.Is any content banned?
No content is banned from the 2024 event. You may create problematic content (e. g. canon Minor/Adult, Underage NSFW, Incest, Non-Con, Mpreg, other assorted Dead Dove); however, we ask that you discuss problematic material in the appropriate server chats and not in gen-chats.Can I apply as more than one type of contributor?
Yes, for example, you could apply as an artist for one piece and a beta for a second piece. Can writers change tiers?
Of course! The tier is a general indicator of how long you expect your fic to be. We realize that things might change during the creation process and your fic may become longer or shorter. If at summary submissions you don't know which tier you'll end up in, please pick whichever is more likely and indicate that you're uncertain about length in your summary submission so that the artist & beta know. Be aware that if you go up a tier, artists and betas are not required to adhere to the demands of the higher tier.My question wasn't answered. How can I ask it?
